Finding Connections
Through my research and collaboration with the neuroscientists and exploring the way the brain works by making connections and pathways I have found myself increasingly interested in how ‘Disconnected' we are from the world, ourselves and others.
Connection & Disconnections
I am really interested in whether being creative can actually improve the connections in your brain and so in the case of Alzheimers disease
Can you use creativity to make new connections that maybe damaged or lost as the neurone pathways disappear ?
Cubo: Exhibition
I recently put my collection of paintings known as the Art of Disconnection in gallery in Doncaster, and then was given the opportunity to show them at Cuboworks - a super new cool business venue in the heart of Sheffield. It is a reconditioned building which has a real industrial vibe going on plus huge ceilings and massive walls to perfectly house my large scale paintings. Suzy who manages the place is really keen to have a range of different artists in Cubo to both promote their work to all the hot desk businesses housed in there - and also give a contemporary splash of colour and interest to the place.
Lots of people pass through Cubo everyday as they go to work or have meetings downstairs where my work is displayed and so it has become a talking point and I have had some interest for both buying and doing a commission for a few people.
